a lot of people thought i was "resigned" from the field of Make Up/ Art since there is no news posted in my blog; i m actually not doing so, just that i am accepting lesser wedding assignment in late 2008 due to busy/full schedules during end of the year. But in the year of OX 2009, i plan to "re-activate" my dead mood by posting new things into the blog(try my best)! Althought i m doing make up in part time basis but it brings me a lot of Satisfaction, Happiness & i get to Discover more in the field of ART. So much so, Experience is the most Valuable one.

UeMuRa's Career

A native of Tokyo, Shu Uemura reportedly first became interested in hairstyling and make up as a teenager while recovering from a severe illness which left him bedridden. He enrolled at the Tokyo Beauty Academy, becoming the only male student in a class of 130 pupils.His first experience in film make-up occurred during the filming of 1957's Joe Beauty which was partially shot in Japan. Uemura left Japan in the late 1950s to try to break into the film and television make-up business. Uemura's big break came on the set of the 1963 film, My Geisha. The film's regular make up artist fell ill and Uemura, who was working as a Hollywood beautician at the time, was called in to fill in for the sick artist. Uemura gained critical acclaim for transforming actress Shirley MacLaine, a Caucasian, into a Japanese woman. He received praise from both My Geisha's filmakers and its cast, including MacLaine. He soon became one of Hollywood's favorite artists.

While nature was a selling point in Uemura cosmetics (deep sea water is a common ingredient), he also knew that women loved theatricality too. Products such as the brand's eyelash curlers, makeup brushes and eyebrow styling are coveted everywhere. Twiggy would be jealous of the selection of false eyelashes in the Tokyo Eyelash Bar collection, coming in voluptuous lengths, colors and sparkling crystals — or the diamond version that Uemura created for Madonna.

21/Mar, i spent a really Wonderful day with lovely clients: Jane ♥ Leo And Robin(the photographer) & Alice; I was their assigned Make Up Artist(MUA) for this shooting session. Leo & Jane were based in SG & they had picked Malacca as their pre-wedding photoshoot location; they loved the historical & uniqued Malacca scenery; it was fun & interesting to be their MUA ^^.

This is the 1st time i worked together with Robin NG, a truly talented photographer in our country. His job was really incredible! & u may see his works at http://www.robinng.com/blog/, i indeed impressed by his working attitude & i can see that he is not working for a job but he treated his job as Biggest INTEREST, that's why he can do whatever just to catch the most beautiful scene of a couple in the pictures. His Sense of photography was absolutely Fabulous!

I should had learned something from Robin that day...GReat to work with him & Alice ...hopefully there are chances to work with Robin in the future.....=) Thanks...

▒ Bz Days..i m tired*_* but getting TougH! ▒

I have been quite bz since CNY08...No time to update my blog account till todate..BUT Now, i need to spend sometime to Make it ALIVE LOLz..By LooKing on my Table Calender, March is just FUll full & FULL! and for April, i must get prepare all my stuff for the upcoming Bridal Show in Mlc, my theme gonna falls into either ColOurFul OR Blueish Bridal Concept..I m the one who always do things last minute(this is not a good sign, anyway, i will force myself to CHANGE
!), BUT i still can get all my jobs done perfectly(self-praised~~Muka TebaL adik!!)..hee ~ Hopefully i could come out something really AmaZing this round,to bring my beloved audience a BIG Suprise & deeply impressed show especially someone who stand beside to giv me encouragement when i was really DoWn to the earth...God Bless..

Tips From Experts:
1. Buy the proper foundation. An off-color base will make every other cosmetic you apply look not quite right. Splurge on foundation at the department store, where you can ask for help in finding the right shade.

2. Prime your lids. Most women's eyelids are translucent, thereby looking darker or more blue than the rest of the face. This discoloration can change the color of the eye products you wear. Before you apply shadow or liner, prime lids with a special base for lids, or with a light swipe of foundation followed by powder. Not only will this even the tone of your eyelids, it will also make your shadows go on more smoothly and last longer.

3. Avoid contouring with blush. Sweeping on cheek color in stripes in an effort to create cheekbones only succeeds in making you look dated and like you're trying too hard. For a more classic, attractive look, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion, and avoid swiping the blush out toward your hairline.

4. Set makeup with loose powder. Loose powder is easier to control and more versatile than its pressed cousin. What's more, it sets every type of cosmetic, from foundation to eye shadow to even lipstick. Pick a loose powder with a yellow undertone to ensure it works with your skin tone, and apply with a fluffy powder brush.

5. Pluck meticulously. Even if you wear no other makeup, keeping your brows groomed perfectly gives you an instantly polished appearance. So pluck whenever you see a stray hair come in (they appear sneakily). That could mean every day, depending on how quickly your eyebrow hairs grow!
